Delimited-file round-trip worksheet =================================== StatMedAnalysis | Downloadable worksheet | 5 November 2026 Test that delimiters, quotes, newlines and literal text survive a read–write–read cycle. Working instructions Create a synthetic fixture with a delimiter inside a quoted field, an embedded quote, a missing token, a leading-zero identifier and a non-ASCII character. Read it with explicitly recorded settings, export it, then parse the export and compare typed field values and record boundaries. Working record Save a local copy. Use public, hypothetical or aggregate information. Project code ____________________ Prepared on ____________________ Fixture ID and software version ___________________________________________________________________ Encoding and line ending ___________________________________________________________________ Delimiter, quote and escape settings ___________________________________________________________________ Missing-value versus empty-string convention ___________________________________________________________________ Expected rows, columns and field values ___________________________________________________________________ Observed differences on first import ___________________________________________________________________ Observed differences after re-export ___________________________________________________________________ Approved import settings and owner ___________________________________________________________________ Hypothetical worked case A fictional sample uses the text identifier 007 and the category “clinic, mobile”. A correct import keeps the leading zeros and treats the category as one field. An embedded newline inside a quoted field should remain within the same logical record. Decision and follow-up Reject the import settings if a field is split, a leading zero is lost or a literal missing token is silently changed. Compare parsed values and record structure. Quoting and line-ending style can differ when equivalent values are preserved.
