Derived figure provenance worksheet

Trace a published figure through its exact intermediate data, transformation
and source version.

Working instructions
Choose a single figure panel and work backward from the exported image. Name
the activity that generated it, each input entity, and the relevant script or
contributor. Repeat for intermediate files until you reach an immutable source
or an explicitly unresolved dependency.

Hypothetical worked case
A fictional panel B uses summary_v3.csv. The summary is generated by collapse.R
at a specified commit from snapshot_04. The manuscript folder also contains
summary_v2.csv. Recording the rendering input clarifies which data actually
produced the panel.

Decision and follow-up
Accept the lineage when a second reader can identify the exact input to every
transformation and reproduce the path to the figure. Record restricted inputs
by approved identifiers and locations without copying their records into the
worksheet.
